Write-Up Based On Books Pies & Prejudice (The Mother-Daughter Book Club #4)
A strong installment in the series. Probably my favorite so far. 3.5 stars. One quibble: I wish the book club would actually spend more time in discussion about the book they're reading when they have their official club meetings. They simply arrive, read through the handout and eat their treats. I don't know that we need to read through the discussion--that would probably slow down the action. But it would be nice to know it was actually happening. :) Emma complains about her mother's handouts,

I am really enjoying reading this series w/ my daughter (although, I DID skip #3).

"It is a truth universally acknowledged..." is the start of one of the most beloved literary classics of all time. It is also one of the main explanations of why Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice is still popular and going strong 200 years later (Jan 28th 2013 is the book's birthday to be exact). That is to say that she wrote universal truths to which we can relate even in our day. This is true for a set of girlfriends and their mothers who participate in a book club together and find some

Was pleasantly surprised with this one!!! Cant wat to read the next one!

I am pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. I took a risk choosing to read a book in the middle of a series without having previously read the earlier books (and only did so because of a local library reading challenge), but it stands alone well enough. I was missing some of the backstories but it was easy enough to either fill in the missing pieces or ignore them altogether. The only struggle with picking up the story in the middle of the series is that there are a lot of girls

One of my favorite books in the world!
