Rendition Toward Books The Scorpio Races

It happens at the start of every November: the Scorpio Races. Riders attempt to keep hold of their water horses long enough to make it to the finish line. Some riders live. Others die.

At age nineteen, Sean Kendrick is the returning champion. He is a young man of few words, and if he has any fears, he keeps them buried deep, where no one else can see them.

Puck Connolly is different. She never meant to ride in the Scorpio Races. But fate hasn’t given her much of a chance. So she enters the competition — the first girl ever to do so. She is in no way prepared for what is going to happen.

Write Up Containing Books The Scorpio Races
this book was not what i was expecting. not in the least. i went into this thinking it would simply be an action-packed tale of a daring race; but what i got was so, so much more. i found myself comforted by a story that showed, in a very special way, that sometimes life is not about what you want, but what you need. with lush and poetic prose (which is so on brand for stiefvater), this story weaves together a foundation of desire, love, and strength in a way that tugs at your heartstrings. wow.

I ACTUALLY CRIED WITH THE LAST LINE OF THIS BOOK. REAL TEARS.

--> REREAD #3, NOVEMBER 2017So I purely reread this for the aesthetic of NOVEMBER 1st. Go me. I am shallow and great. And also I love this book so bloody much it actually hurts my heart. I am hopelessly and utterly in love with Sean and Corr and Thisby and every word choice is so PERFECT that it melts me.Notable 3rd Read Thoughts: can Holly pls adopt Sean Puck keeps trying to be less vinegar but she should be all the vinegar 99% sure Finn has OCD and it is such a good rep Gabe and Tommy Falks

It is the first day of November and so, today, someone will die. With these haunting words laid out like a feast of uncertainty and doom, Maggie Stiefvater launches a new telling of an old tale inspired by elements of Celtic mythology, legends of the water horses, and her own imagination. And nothing had ever been more beautiful, or fearsome, or bizarre. So, what's this book about? Each October, dread settles over the island of Thisby, as The Scorpio sea throws capaill uiscecommonly known as water

Killer water horses + Maggie Stiefvater. What could go wrong? As it turns out, quite a lot. I feel just terrible writing this, and if you want to know just how much, it actually took me 4 months to make myself finish the book--partly because I wasn't engaged in the story, but also because I could sense that this wasn't going to be good reading experience. After the bruising my heart took with Forever, I really didn't want to write a second negative review for this author. But I'm afraid my

Absolutely fantasical! More please... First off, a huge thanks to Flannery from thereadventurer who is touring this book with the Street Corner Bookers and allowed me to experience this crazy sauce of a book! Thank you! Wow! Just wow!! Maggie Stiefvater has definitely cemented her status in the YA genre and Scorpio Races is her full access ticket to the game. I've enjoyed her Mercy Falls trilogy for over a couple of years, but this book has definitely pulled her away from the pack and shown she

Tarot card reading for this book: inverted Tower. The Tower is leaning into the sea, crumbling, with thrashing waves and stormy skies, and while it can be a card of destruction, it can also be a card of fundamental change--which describes The Scorpio Races down to the letter. A fierce and hungry book. Even the wind is hungry here, "a live, starving thing." The tomboyish Kate, otherwise known as 'Puck,' and her brothers have been orphaned ever since the carnivorous water horses killed their
