Rendition To Books Aurora Rising (The Aurora Cycle #1)
From the internationally bestselling authors of THE ILLUMINAE FILES comes an epic new science fiction adventure. The year is 2380, and the graduating cadets of Aurora Academy are being assigned their first missions. Star pupil Tyler Jones is ready to recruit the squad of his dreams, but his own boneheaded heroism sees him stuck with the dregs nobody else in the Academy would touch…
A cocky diplomat with a black belt in sarcasm
A sociopath scientist with a fondness for shooting her bunkmates
A smart-ass techwiz with the galaxy’s biggest chip on his shoulder
An alien warrior with anger management issues
A tomboy pilot who’s totally not into him, in case you were wondering
And Ty’s squad isn’t even his biggest problem—that’d be Aurora Jie-Lin O’Malley, the girl he’s just rescued from interdimensional space. Trapped in cryo-sleep for two centuries, Auri is a girl out of time and out of her depth. But she could be the catalyst that starts a war millions of years in the making, and Tyler’s squad of losers, discipline-cases and misfits might just be the last hope for the entire galaxy.
They're not the heroes we deserve. They're just the ones we could find. Nobody panic.

Review first posted on Fantasy Literature:A lot of YA fantasy and science fiction works follow teenager characters as they attend magic or spaceflight school (I would take either!), but not nearly as many follow the characters lives after graduation. Aurora Rising, a new YA space adventure from Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff, the authors of the well-regarded ILLUMINAE FILES trilogy, take the latter approach, following a diverse cast of older teens as they graduate from Aurora Academy in the yeartoday i was in the bookstore and i wasn't intending to buy anything, i swear, but this was literally $13 for a swanky new hardback....i think you can guess whether i bought it or not.

**4.5-stars rounded up**Apparently this is what it feels like to have your still beating heart ripped out of your chest?!The year is 2380 and our story begins on the eve of graduation at Aurora Academy, after which squad leaders will choose their teams and be given their first real assignments.Tyler Jones, star pupil and known leader, cannot sleep. Call it nerves, call it excitement, whatever it is, sleep is not happening for him.During the course of his restless night, he hears an SOS over the

When you shine brighter than an constellation in the sky? 🌟 My most anticipated books have turned into my most my disappointing books this year! I dont know if my high expectations ruined this for me or it was really not that good. But Amie and Jay gave us the Illuminae Files which I adore and so I expected a bit more from this. But even when I was
As Cat would say, "Hold on to your undies, kids!" Thank you so much to Allen and Unwin for sending me a review copy! This was SO good. I never do reviews like this, but I think the best way to sum up this book is through the AMAZING cast of characters AKA Squad 312.Tyler --> squad leader, golden boy, "captain hotness" with a heart of gold, Scarlett's twin.Auri --> biracial (she's Irish & Chinese!), woke up with weird powers after being frozen for 200 years......as you do.Scarlett
*adjusts glasses* Ahem, according to my research, this involves spaceships, sassy banter, and hawt space elves (NOT NECESSARILY IN THAT ORDER), and so the scientific conclusion I have come to is...hnghhh gimme buk now pls
