Interpretation In Favor Of Books Take a Chance on Me (Christiansen Family #1)
Darek Christiansen is almost a dream bachelor—oldest son in the large Christiansen clan, heir to their historic Evergreen Lake Resort, and doting father. But he’s also wounded and angry since the tragic death of his wife, Felicity. No woman in Deep Haven dares come near.New assistant county attorney Ivy Madison simply doesn’t know any better when she bids on Darek at the charity auction. Nor does she know that when she crafted a plea bargain three years ago to keep Jensen Atwood out of jail and in Deep Haven fulfilling community service, she was releasing the man responsible for Felicity’s death. All Ivy knows is that the Christiansens feel like the family she’s always longed for. And once she gets past Darek’s tough exterior, she finds a man she could spend the rest of her life with. Which scares her almost as much as Darek learning of her involvement in his wife’s case.
Caught between new love and old grudges, Darek must decide if he can set aside the past for a future with Ivy—a future more and more at risk as an approaching wildfire threatens to wipe out the Christiansen resort and Deep Haven itself.

It looks like it took an incredibly long time for me to read this, but that isn't really the case. I'm close to ocd about reading series in order. I knew that technically this was the first book in a series, but I recognized the town of Deep Haven, so backtracked and in the time since January 25 along with a number of other books I read all of the Deep Haven series. As several had told me, I wouldn't have been lost had I not done that, but it was fun recognizing names as I read, kind of getting4.5⭐Ivy Madison bet on the wrong guy. Literally. She is new in town and goes to a bachelor auction and bets on the most ineligible man. Derek Christenson. Hes got a past that haunts him but a son that loves him. Derek fell in love with the wrong girl, Felicity, in a sense that she was dating someone else at the time of impregnating her. Jenson. (Did anyone else think of Jenson Ackles when reading?) he killed the woman both him and Derek loved. Now hes forced to do community service in the town
This is the first in a new series, The Christiansen Family. I listened to the audio version. We are introduced to the family and they are delightful. Darek, the eldest has had tragedy in his life, is now a widower raising a lively, rambunctious 5 year old son called Tiger. Ivy has longed to belong and be part of a family since her days in foster care. Claire is the daughter of a missionary couple who are doctors, who have specific plans for Claire, now age 25. Jensen is trying to complete

My first book by Susan May Warren and I loved it! Can't wait to read more about this family!
Review on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2G4PTIU...Review on my blog: http://christianbookshelfreviews.blog...I've read more than a dozen of Susan May Warren's books and I don't think any of them have disappointed me, so I wasn't surprised that I loved Take A Chance On Me.There were so many things about Take A Chance On Me that I loved! I'll name a couple of them:The Setting: I've only read a couple of Warren's "Deep Haven" novels, but I really liked how it was a small-town set in
What can I say except that I loved this book! Which is kind of weird because it took me so long to read this book. I said I would read it in exchange for some truthful reviews. Im kind of a stubborn person, and the thought of having to read a book felt like school work (if you must know I didnt like any of the books that I had to read for school) so I put off reading it. Then it got some good reviews, and I was afraid to be the person who didnt like it. So I put it off some more. But once I
This is the first book of Ms. Warren's that I have read. Let me just say that it will not be the last! I enjoyed this book immensely! The author portrays life in a small Minnesota town so well it makes you feel like an honorary resident of Deep Haven! Aside from the setting (which became a prominent character in it's own right!), what stood out to me the most was the incredible message of forgiveness, and the fabulous, utterly unforgettable characters. I loved both Ivy and Darek, but I think
