Looks like were there and back again at dealing with past traumas. The readers are given an insight with Kyokos backstory this time, which deals with heartache and betrayal, nothing like the mother of Tohru Honda we hear so much about. Kyoko was a completely different person from her current self before losing her life to a car accident. She used to be as bad as Akito, belittling others and constantly gets into fights for the heck of it. Kyoko sees herself a lot from Uotani due to having similarMy reread of Volume 16 is complete! Here are a few things I noticed while reading:- Baby Tohru is so cute! No wonder she's on the last page of the book!- I can't believe Kyoko's parents threw her out of their house as soon as she got out of the hospital! And she was only in the hospital because she wanted to better herself by leaving her gang!- It's nice to see another side of Machi when (view spoiler)[ she and Yuki are fighting over the leaf. (hide spoiler)] She kind of fades into the
Tohru's parent's backstory giving me the feels.

I love this manga so, so, so damn much! The relationships, the way people take care of each other, the gentle gestures. Just everything, really. Fruits Basket is definitely one of the best mangas I ever read and I dont want it to end. >_< Jeez! This volume was so emotional! Thoughts to the highlights of this volume: - I had absolutely NO IDEA how Tohrus parents got to know each other and therefore soaked up their background story like a sponge! Those two!! GAH! I love them! They were such
I just finished reading this volume of Fruits Basket 3 hours ago. Surprisingly, I kinda liked this volume. I haven't read Furuba since last year, so I completely forgot the plot, the characters, and everything else. XD And I normally complain about Natsuki Takaya's drawing stlye- after she injured her drawing hand (during the seventh or eighth book, I think). In a few parts of the book, I caught myself thinkking,"Hey, this image wasn't drawn so horribly...it kinds resembles her old drawing
I'm not crying, you're crying. I forgot how sad Kyoko's past was until reading this volume. It was interesting to learn that Kyo was privvy to such delicate information and learned all there was about Kyoko and how she had met Katsuya, Tohru's dad. I was straight up bawling because I could feel her pain and suffering when she thought she was alone in the world after Katsuya died and it made me wonder if I'll be like that if my husband were to leave me suddenly? I was also intrigued with how
Well that was horrific.
